If I had any doubts that Barack Obama is my candidate for president, the fact that he was able to refrain from slapping Elisabeth Hasselbeck during his visit to The View today just erased them all. I think that must have taken a presidential amount of restraint. Of course the ladies, especially Barbara Walters and Hasselbeck, wanted to talk about Rev. Wright and had every right to do so, but all Hasselbeck did was ask questions he had already answered and prove, unequivocally, that people of her ilk simply don't care what Obama's answers to their Rev. Wright questions are unless it's, "I will never speak to him again, and I hope he burns in hell."
Incidentally, the women asked him about how he plans to avoid being swiftboated a la John Kerry, and he said the trick is to answer truthfully and forcefully, but also quickly, which is where Kerry went wrong. Whoopi Goldberg asked him what the first three things he would do in office were and he said, get out of Iraq, make health care happen, and solve the energy crisis, with some economic crisis management in between.
At the end of the segment, he added that Michelle Obama had no interest in becoming involved in presidential politics, but when they told him he should come back, he was like, uhh…maybe you should invite Michelle instead. Going on The View twice in a campaign is too much, if only because Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd both looked like they were plotting to rape him backstage and Barbara Walters actually referred to him as "sexy-looking."
I think he did a great job. Notice that when he walked to the couch, he hugged everyone EXCEPT Elizabeth (unless he did it when the camera cut away). His appearance showcased his charm, calm demeanor, and intelligence.
Obama is a classy guy.

That's enough to scare anyone off from making a repeat appearance.
My favorite part was when Barack asked Elisabeth "what would happen if someone made a clip of the five stupidest things she's ever said and played them in a continuous loop."
*waiting for the YouTube clip*
Oops! "you've ever said"
The message is the candidate and the candidate is the message.
I think Senator Obama has a date with destiny, his is not a normal rise from Obscurity to power, the message is within him.
I have my suspicions but now isn't the time.
Not going to read more horse race BS and I will surely never read anything View or Tyra related.
Have to hand it to the village idiots. They look nice. Two on far right in the picture in case you were confused. Babwa's trench is nice but it's made for a taller person.
i love whoopi; that's my dawg, but uh-ruh, is she running a barber shop during commercial breaks? did she edge barack up real quick?
