Tom Joyner Wants Listeners Who Criticized Tavis Smiley to Seek Him Out And Molest Him
So that he can feel the love

joynersmiley.jpgWe all know by now that Tavis Smiley, despite whatever he says, has decided to step down from his post on the Tom Joyner Morning Show due in part to the blacklash* he received from listeners after he had some harsh words for Barack Obama. Joyner, who admits that he wished Smiley would show Obama more love (Joyner's all about the love), wrote an open letter arguing that Tavis Smiley on the radio saying things people don't like is better than no Tavis Smiley at all. In the letter, he called on his fans to show Tavis the "love" he deserves.

"I want you to call him, e-mail him, text him, hug him, kiss him, get him in a corner and wrestle him and tell him how much you love him and appreciate his love for black people. Everyone needs that sometimes. And Tavis needs it right now."

When Smiley's walking down the street today and a group of rabid Tom Joyner fans wrestle him to the ground and shower him with kisses and sweet nothings, he's got Joyner to thank.

*That was a typo, but I decided it worked.

I would glad molest Tavis Smiley in exchange that he returns the favor.

@ Mama's: i kind of got the impression that unless one has a penis and no breasts, Tavis ain't all that interested in feelin' one up.

I think Tavis is making the world a better place, with him working in a diminished capacity. And Souldecirce? Between Lauren's 'blacklash' and your innuendo, I would prefer that you stop making me laugh.

I have a lot of respect for Tavis; unfortunately he is wrong when he it comes to Obama. Some blacks will say that they won't vote for Obama just because he is black and they are right. The question is then, who are those people voting for - McCain? It can't Hilary as far as I am concerned is the weaker candidate.

Tavis has been crying for many years that black people are not getting a head or being denied equal rights and opportunities. The minute he seas a brother getting ahead what does Tavis do - he turns into a crab in a barrel by trying to hold a brother back.

Anyone who thinks that the Clinton's give a damn about the state of blacks in America is living a fairytale.

Oh puleeeze!

I am so tired of ignorant black people claiming that if you don't support Obama, you must be holding him back.

I will support and vote for whoever I want based on my own criteria, which has nothing to do with skin color.

Tavis is an intelligent man, and has been speaking out about black issues years before anyone ever heard of Obama.

Mark my words, these insane black Obamanuts will be the downfall of his candidacy when all is said and done.

@solitaire: glad to know that the insane white Obamanuts that I know will be completely free from blame. yep, just the black ones are responsible.

My dislike of Tavis has nothing to do with his comments about O'Bama ( as I am truly an undecided voter at this point). He is a pompous, third class journalist whose ego is now holding back his career. He needs to grow up and stop acting like the "angry little prince" he will never be.
