What To Watch
The Hip Hop Project Is In Theaters Today

I saw the Hip Hop Project at an outdoor showing at last year's Tribeca Film Festival. It was unseasonably cold, and some of the people who were sitting around me left. I was freezing, too, but I couldn't. I fell in love with the kids in this documentary and their mentor Kazi, who was on his own journey to find himself. Also, there is a very sweet love story (I'm a sucker for that) thrown in for good measure.

Produced by Bruce Willis and Queen Latifah, it's gotten lukewarm reviews from major newspapers that aren't necessarily unwarranted. It's been a long time, but I don't remember it being a flawless movie. Just fun, moving, and worth the $10 bucks.
