Forget the engagement rumors — a source "close to Nick Cannon" tells Latina magazine that Cannon and Mariah Carey got married yesterday in a private ceremony on a small island. The wedding was "very impulsive," says the source. There were a few close friends in attendance, including Da Brat. Uh, congrats?

Oh My Gosh. Isn't she like, wow, um, light years older than this kid? I know her press releases say she's maybe 36, but, man, she looks a lot older than that….how long will it last? Let's guess: 6 months privately, 1 year till the public announcement of irreconcilable differences.

And not to derail this post but um, is anyone else surprised that Mimi is marrying someone so, well….uh, how shall I say, ostensibly and phenotypically Black? Oh, AND he can't do jack for her career. I thought for sure that Mimi would pull a Halle! Isn't it interesting that Halle dated all those Black men and ended up with Gabriel Aubrey and Mimi dated all those non-Black men and ended up with Nick Cannon? I hope that Mimi doesn't have to turn in her "cross over status" card.

Gotta laugh about all these older celebrity women marrying men so much younger than them. It's a trend!

But not too long ago, the tables were turned and a young, nubile Carey was married to old, decrepit Tommy Mottola. Good for her - this is substantial improvement.
