Zahara Jolie-Pitt, Smiling, Pointing, And Playing Through The Pain

babyz.jpg
Zahara Jolie-Pitt, my favorite African child of famous white parents — David Banda Ritchie's not even a close second — might be facing surgery soon for a genetic hip disorder. Mystery of why she is always being held: solved. Well, it's maybe 10 percent her hip ailment and 90 percent the hounding paparazzi.

I wish they would do something with that little girls hair.

They use Carol's Daughter according to Brad.

Frankly, I'd rather have a mess of a hair than the tight braids I had at her age. An hour of crying each week while some large woman pulled and tugged.

Oh, about her hip, that's unfortunate. Poor child. Well, I hope they fix it now so she won't have any memory of the pain.

I think she's a cutie, especially when she smiles. I'm sure Brad and Angelina will get her the best medical attention if the hip story is true, so she'll be fine.

As far as her hair goes, I think Angelina needs to take a black hair course stat, or hire a full time black nanny/hairstylist for Zahara.

First, if the hip story is true, I'm sure things will turn out fine. Now on to the bs

I'm tired of people raggin' on her hair. I know plenty of little black girls whose hair is done in the morning and by lunch looks a hot mess. My baby sister used to eat and manage to get food in her hair…at the nape of her neck! She also couldn't stand any sort of hair accessory and would pull them out as soon as my mom finished her hair. Angelina has said before that when they do anything to her hair she pulls it out. Zahara's hair texture also seems to be pretty fine and wouldn't do very well in hairstyles that called for any pulling. [/rant].

Sorry about that, stepping away from my lectern now.

daria,

I agree. Braids at that age would do nothing but set up poor Zahizzle for a life of having a crap hairline & frail, damaged hair.

Ditto on not putting her hair in braids. I'm friends with a white couple that has adopted 3 black children and only one is a girl. I'm sure if you saw the mom and little girl on the street you would be ranting about her hair because she usually on puts it in two puffs…by noon her edges and such are all over the place…but the little girl's hair is so beautiful… actually she and Zahara could be twins…

my mom actually would never put any accessories in my hair unless we were going somewhere special and was very careful about the tension caused by hair styles…

my point I would rather see a little girl grow up w/ head full of healthy hair then some little girl who thinks she's been sentenced to a like of weaves b/c mom wanted her with the cutest styles…

I wish I could be as impressed (or as interested) with this little girl as every other black person on the planet seems to be. :-( I want to be part of the club, but I just can't muster up the energy.
